Rayleigh Goes to the Races: Part 1

Rollie Polee’s live to race, this is a hobby not many people know about.  Rollie poles spend most of their time digging tunnels and racetracks where can they showcase their speed and do many daredevil feats.  Rollie polies live for the race and the speed plus they are perfectly crafted for speed and the ability to man things that would seem impossible. Race day is the most exciting thing that occurs in the underground world of the Rollieopolis.  Each track is newly dug into the earth and is never the same this makes it more exciting every time because you never know what is going to happen next. No fan was more excited or less seen than Raleigh Polee, he never missed a race, and he knew all the racers the best and the worst, Raleigh loved them all.  The pure excitement that was filling the air every race day made Raleigh want to be a raver more and more and at every race he always tried to take part, always tried to work on a team, he wanted more than anything to be a racer. Then there he was the greatest racer of all time, well according to Raleigh, was walking towards him. Raleigh screamed with great excitement

"Rolls Royce, Rolls Royce, my favorite racer, no one can beat you."

Some older Polies standing behind Rollie just glared and then spoke up as well. "No way Sir Rolls-a-lot was better in every way, and still is, Rolls has lost to Sir Rolls as many times as I have hands” and for a rollie Polee they do have a lot of hands. Raleigh had never experience anyone shouting back at him like before maybe because this was the first race, he had been to without his parents he begged and pleaded but they had always accompanied him to the races.  Raleigh was on his own and had noticed that when you come by yourself if you want to speak up don't expect everyone else to just take it quietly.  So, Raleigh did what any rollie polee who wants to be a racer would he turned around and told the older Polee what he thought. "No way your crazy Rolls could out race Sir Rolls-a-lot without even getting into a ball." The older polio just looks at him and states, "You talk a lot for such a small polee" Raleigh had never been called small before and didn't know how to take it "Well I bet you are just a surface living Polee and don't know anything." If you didn't know being called a surface polee was the biggest insult, there is.  Not only was it seen as lazy, but they also were only called that when someone was too scared to race. How dare you call me a surface polee I will race you right now. The older polio's face turned very sour "You understand you never dare someone to race, I can't turn that down.: Raleigh regretted saying it almost immediately, but he said it none the less "Let’s go I'm not scared of you, you surface polee." The older polee just looked at him and then looked at the course and said 2 words that seemed to seal the fate of Raleigh
"Let’s go”
